Current Guidance on Reopening Economic Activity Safely

UPDATED April 16, 2021.

MDHHS issued a new Gathering Prohibition and Face Covering Public Health Emergency Order based on the Michigan Public Health Act, retaining gathering restrictions on certain businesses, effective April 19 – May 24, 2021. The Order extends mask mandates to children aged 2+, workplace safety rules, and capacity restrictions. Click the above image for the most recent update.

On April 13, MIOSHA extended their Emergency Rules for general and industry specific businesses with a new expiration date of October 14, 2021. On October 13, the Michigan Legislature passed bills providing for liability protections for businesses relating to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and legislation codifying the governor’s previous executive orders on unemployment benefits and worker safety.

The resource includes specific safety guidance and orders from County/Local, State (Executive Office, LEO, MIOSHA), and Federal authorities (CDC, OSHA and the White House). Further, the resources include updated model preparedness & response plan templates for informational purposes only.

SWCRC Advocacy
  • “Trying to grow your business without being a member of the Chamber is like trying to live a healthy life without any form of exercise!  As an Ambassador, Board Member, and long-term member, I have found that active involvement in the SWCRC has been a key ingredient for making the connections and building the relationships necessary for a healthy business!”

Mark Tremper, Downriver Community Federal Credit Union
  • “I moved here from Seattle in 2014 and when starting my business I was not very well connected in the Downriver area. Being a part of the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber was the best decision I have ever made. The connections I now have within this chamber have grown my business in multiple ways. A great leadership team makes all the difference.”

    Brett Chittum, Chittum Consulting
  • “The support and leadership that Elliott’s Bakery and Coffee Shop has received from the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber has been phenomenal.  Ron (SWCRC President) attended and MC’d our official ribbon cutting ceremony, helped the bakery be involved in Chamber events such as the “Taste of Downriver”, and the support from other Chamber members such as insurance quotes, discounts, and information has been of great value to us as new business owners.”

Dr. Kristine Davidson, Elliott's Bakery and Coffee Shop
  • “The SWCRC is an intricate part of our municipality and I encourage  you and your employees to consider becoming members of the Chamber. We work together not only to assist businesses in locating and growing in Southeast Michigan, but we have been and always will work together to help you and other businesses overcome any obstacles, and challenges you will face with networking opportunities, lobbying, and informational programs.”

Supervisor Andrew Linko, Charter Township of Brownstown, Michigan
  • “Riverview is very proud to be a member of the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber.  The chamber has grown to be a powerful voice for the entire downriver business community and the municipalities it encompasses.”

Mayor Andrew Swift, City of Riverview, Michigan
  • “Alormar Industries’ experience with the SWCRC has been outstanding. SWCRC opens businesses to opportunities for cost savings with other business that are involved in the Chamber. Then you meet great people at all of their networking events.  Don’t forget the great staff. I just love them, so helpful.”

Mary Culbertson, Alormar Industries | Wyandotte
  • “…if you own your own business, why don’t you come see what the Chamber can do for you. I’ve been a Chamber member for 4 years and an Ambassador for 3. The connections I’ve made and the people I’ve met have helped me greatly. But then I also do what I can to help at events or if I can’t help out, I at least try to be there. Just saying…Come on, you’ve got nothing to lose and much to gain!”

    David Heino, Siberian Home Inspections
  • “The SWCRC has been a huge part of the growth of my business, the networking, referrals and relationships have been amazing.”

    Tim Somers, Bizarre Marketing
